The rants of a loony Slayers fangirl

But mummy, I don't want to go to camp! =(

Been kind of lazy about wiritng here lately! Sorry! I've had a lot of things going on in my life lately (mostly positive ones, so no need to worry. XD)

Right now, I'm participating in Camp NaNoWriMo ( It's basically the same as the regular NaNo, except that it's now isntead of November, obviously. Last years NaNo was my first one ever and I had ablast, I hope this one's going to be as much fun as that one was.

Also, let's talk about books! I recently finished Brave New World (in many ways, it's brilliant and still very relevant, but as a work of literature it has nothing on Nineteen Eighty-Four. Not that I don't like both: I do love me some great dystopias <3), The Screwtape Letters (I quite liked it), and the Silence of the Lambs (well, I needed a break. >.<) I'm still not quite done with Walden, which while an absolutely fantastic book is really good at wearing me down. Haha.

Anyway, in case I forget to come around, I hope you all have a great summer!

That feeling you get when goofily-dressed carnival-goers gape at your day-to-day clothes.

Hi guys, how's it going? Life's been busy, with plenty of schoolwork left to do before the sweet release that is summer holiday. Nothing special, really.

So, uh, I'm kind of out of things to say...

...Let's talk about annoying things in fandom, shall we?

The next example is from Touhou (big surprise there), but the problem is widely common in most fandoms, so I'm sure everyone will get something out of it.

And the subject matter is...Annoying fanon character interpretations!Collapse )

Is Big Brother drawing nearer or something? XP

The whole caffeine binge thing failed to fix my sleeping rhythm, but I got a lot of writing done thanks to it. Yay. Going home for the weekend. Yay. I have a linguistics test on Monday. Oy vey.

By the way, anyone know what's up with TV Tropes? I visited it after a short break and noticed that several work pages have been outright deleted, and clicking at some of the redlinks will give the message: "We do not want a page on this topic." Okay...As far as I can see the pages that have been deleted were either porn-related or controversial in some other way, but they also deleted the article on Lolita...Excuse me, what? O_o I read it a while ago, and while it's squicky, it's a really great book and obviously anti-pedophile. It's a classic for a reason! Having the page deleted just like that seems...odd.

Edit: So wait, they deleted the page on Lolita but kept the one on FATAL? Hahaha what.

"Shoot and I'll move!"

Hiya fellows! Lunaoh here, trying to fix her sleeping rhythm by staying up this night. Actually, I've tried to do so several times during the last fortnight, but I always fell asleep in the wee hours of the morning (I really don't know what's up with that; last month I couldn't sleep for more than five hours a night and now I can't make it through one night without dozing off?) So, I decided to get a little help and bought a 12-pack of energy drinks. Since I usually steer clear from caffeine, the results have been...interesting. Probably not the best time to write an update since I'm practically tripping, but eh.

Anyway, even after chugging down a litre of the stuff, I still felt sleepy. O_o So, I started playing Touhou, because if caffeine by itself isn't enough to keep me awake, caffeine and danmaku sickness definitely are. Since I hadn't actually played Touhou for quite a while, the results were quite pathetic at first, but after a while I got into the groove and actually captured Fujiyama Volcano, one of the hardest cards of the entire series, for the first time ever. =O Go me!

Also, have a sketch! It's far from finished, but I'm getting too jittery to continue drawing, so oh well. Also loltouhou.

Oh come on, I saw the guillotine coming miles away!

So, what can I say but...Happy Easter, everyone!

What do you mean Easter's already over? Well, the thing is, I spend the holiday over at my parents' and opted not to take my laptop with me (the thing's freaking heavy). So, uh, hope you all had a good one! =)

Anyway, this looks like the perfect opportunity to shill something! I'd like to introduce you to Ib, a freeware horror game recently translated by the inimitable vgperson.

(My reactions watching the video: "Oh yeah, looking at paintings in an art gallery, the spookiest thing ever...Okay, that was a little weird...What was that?...oh god did I just see what i think i saw DDDDD=)

I'm too big of a scaredy-cat to play the game by myself, but fortunately my sister is a big horror fan and did all the actual playing (and was just snarky enough to lower the tension without ruining the mood), allowing me to focus on the puzzles without having to flee the room whenever something unexpected happened. We ran into a glitch about an hour in without enough time to get past it before I had to return home, but until then it was a hoot.

So, I highly recommend the game to anyone who isn't prone to nightmares: it's only a couple of hours long with multiple endings, and there are instructions as to how to get past the glitch I previously alluded to should you encounter it. Plus, it's free! Worth every penny, let me tell you. ;) The download link is in the video description.

Well look who comes crawling back...
kopii a bit too happy
Hiya, 'sup, and what ho! How is everyone? Life treating you kindly? Anyone missed the annoying little pest that is Lunaoh? Is anyone reading this?

No audience, eh? Well, no matter, it's not like this is the first time I'm talking to myself. :D

Shocked to see me and my nonsense again? I did promise I'd return, even if I or anyone else could have never guessed that the hiatus would be quite this long. In fact, at some point I completely gave up the idea of returning and hid my old entries (they still exist and I can recover them if someone wants to see them though (although why would anyone want to see them? They're 50% crappy art and 50% crappy whining. XD)). But whatever.

Let's see...During these seventeen months or so I've gone from a slacker high school student to a university student (still a slacker though), discovered quite a few fandoms (and I'm still recovering from my Touhou addiction. The thing is a virus, it never leaves your system once it gets in!), and read Moby Dick. I actually liked the random discussions about whales more than the actual story, ha ha. I still dabble with art and writing, although at this point I've come to realise there's no future for me in anything art-related. Therefore, I just do them for the lulz. :D In fact, I kind of feel like writing a Slayers fic, and a darkfic at that, but it's been so long since I've last seen or read Slayers I've forgotten all the finer details (and all my Slayers novels and DVDs are over at my parents' house.) Oops.

That about sums it up, I guess. Anyway, it's nice to meet you all again! Can't wait to hear what all of you have been up to!

Oh well. Regardless, it's good to be back! Cheers, everyone!
